Saturday Trip to White Rock, BC

23 Feb

We live in a beautiful place and sometimes we forget about that. Today I was reminded why I love this place. White Rock is a town 40 km from Burnaby. Today we took a trip to get away from busyness of the city and enjoy sunny Saturday afternoon at the beach. Coming back to the idea of this blog of finding the golden mean, I think when you live in a city you definitely need to take a break and go somewhere you can clear your mind and just enjoy the nature. I know I’m like that and this kind of short trips bring balance to my life and make me appreciate what we have here.

Here are some photos from White Rock.

White Rock Eagle

We were surprised to find an eagle peacefully sitting on the tree at the beach and looking around probably in search of some food. He didn’t seem to care much about people around taking pictures and making noise. I guess it makes sense when it is bigger than some kids playing around.

The best end to a walk is cold beer!  We went to this pub on the beach called Charlie Don’t Surf. It was a mix of a sports bar and a fancy club with chandeliers and other weird accessories  We got calamari to go with our beer, but I must say it was the WORST calamari I’ve had in Canada so far! A lot of batter and tiny dry squid inside, so basically it was just deep fried batter.

How do you like to spend your Saturday?
