Today is the first day of Maslenitsa week in Russia. This year Maslenitsa is falling on March 11 to 17. Maslenitsa is a week-long Russian tradition of saying good-bye to winter and getting ready for spring. Every day in Maslenitsa week is different and has its own meaning. Basically, the main part of this celebration is pancakes or crepes or in Russian “blini”. Usually blini are served with as many topping as you can imagine: savory or sweet!

Happy Maslenitsa to everyone! Make and eat as much crepes as you can! The more the merrier!

What is your favourite topping?

xoxo
